“Here, the cool Monterey climate maintains optimum acidity to balance the grapes’ rich cherry character.”

2005 Mayro-Murdick Pinot Noir, Carneros

Story

A husband and wife team, owners Mike and Tina Cox, share a love of Pinot Noir. The name Mayro-Murdick comes from the first names of their paternal grandfathers, whose names are as distinctive as the wines the Cox family produces. They believe that Carneros is producing some of the most unique, rich and true Pinot Noirs available today.

Tasting Notes

This vintage is hallmark Carneros. Complexity with an upfront spiciness, backed with sweet cherry, draped in a core of acid and fine grained tannins. Elevation in small French Oak barrels has allowed the wine’s terroir-specific fruit flavors to mature and develop into a refined, elegant Pinot Noir. A wine of this classic structure will reward aging in your cellar or accompanying a well-prepared meal.
