“Their love of Zinfandel from Old Vines caused them to seek out some of the best vineyard sites in California.”
Henry Modani built a house within this vineyard block in 1920, hence the name Henry’s House. This north facing site has great elevation and a microclimate that is warmer than the rest of the ranch. The uppermost section is actually a banana belt. Younger vines are interplanted amongst the old ones due to phyloxxera.
This combination lends bright fruit and lively acidity to the wine, making it vibrant and youthful. The heat of Amador County lends notes of blackberry jam and fig to this rich, yet elegant wine.
