2006 Spellbound Riesling, California
Story
This is the newest white wine for the Spellbound label. To create the style for our Riesling we visited more than 20 wineries in Germany’s famous Rhiengau region. After tasting plenty of their famous trocken (dry) and half-trocken (semi dry) wines, we created our Riesling to honor these wines in an off-dry style.
Tasting Notes
To capture the essence of California Riesling we did all stainless steel fermentation and aging of this wine. Small amounts of Muscat and Chardonnay were blended in to enhance the mouth feel and complete the finish. We recommend this wine chilled and served with a vast amount of world cuisine, specifically spicy Thai, Chinese, Southwestern and authentic Mexican dishes. With aromas of ripe melon and jasmine, complemented by the rich yet crisp flavors of fresh honeycomb and ripe nectarines it makes for the perfect pairing.
